Assessment Packages:
Our assessment packages provide a thorough evaluation of characteristics, including potential co-occuring or differential diagnoses:
What's Included in Each Package?
Each package covers the complete assessment process:
Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for these assessments.
Fees:
Our assessment recommendations and associated fees are tailored to ensure the most suitable and ethical approach for each client. If new information suggests additional diagnostic considerations or areas for further exploration, the assessment plan and fees may be adjusted accordingly. All changes will be discussed in advance, and no assessment will proceed without your consent.
Professional Competency:
As outlined in the Psychology Board of Australia’s Professional Competencies for General Registration – Competency 4: Conducts Psychological Assessments, psychologists are qualified to conduct diagnostic assessments, apply standardised tools, interpret results, and make informed diagnostic decisions based on recognised classification systems, including the DSM-5-TR.
National Guidelines for the Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism in Australia:
Our assessments fulfil the Assessment of Functioning component of a Comprehensive Needs Assessment, as outlined in the National Guideline for the Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism in Australia. These guidelines acknowledge registered psychologists as essential members of the Consensus Team for Diagnostic Evaluation.
To fully complete the Comprehensive Needs Assessment, a Medical Evaluation is also required. This evaluation identifies potential medical contributors to the individual’s presentation and clarifies specific support needs.
This multidisciplinary approach enhances understanding of the individual’s needs, promotes access to appropriate resources, and aligns with the collaborative care model recommended by national agencies and funding bodies, such as the NDIA.
Australian ADHD Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guidelines:
Our ADHD assessments align with the Australian ADHD Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guidelines, which recognise psychologists with the appropriate training and competence as qualified to conduct ADHD diagnostic evaluations.
The guidelines emphasise a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach, recommending that assessments include clinical and psychosocial evaluations, developmental and medical histories, and observer reports.
For medication and medical assessment, only medical practitioners, such as Psychiatrists, are qualified to prescribe and evaluate additional health factors that may influence ADHD symptoms.
NDIS Eligibility:
NDIS eligibility requirements differ from the professional competencies recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia. To meet NDIS criteria, a Medical Evaluation is required following the recommendations set by the National Guidelines.
If your main goal is to apply for NDIS funding, it’s recommended to arrange a Medical Evaluation (such as a review with a Psychiatrist) to help ensure all necessary criteria are met for a successful application.
Medication:
Registered Psychologists cannot prescribe medications. If required, a medical assessment will need to be arranged to explore medication options as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
