To start, please book a 90-minute assessment intake session. During this session, we'll discuss your relevant history, background information, present symptoms, and concerns.
To schedule your initial intake, please email your enquiry to admin@wellspsychology.com.au or visit the Contact Us page in the above menu.
Following your intake appointment, we will develop a personalised assessment plan. For details on what to expect during the diagnostic process and to view our available packages, please visit our Assessment page, also located in the menu above.
Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for assessment services.
It's completely normal to feel hesitant when first seeking mental health support. To help ease this process, Wells Psychology offers a complimentary 10-minute meet and greet phone call with Principal Psychologist Ashlee Wells. This is your opportunity to ask any questions and learn more about our services without any obligation to proceed further.
If you're interested in this offer, please reach out to us through the Contact Us page found in the menu above.
A referral is not required to schedule an appointment. However, if you would like to use a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) to receive a Medicare rebate, you must obtain a referral from your GP.
To benefit from Medicare rebates for psychological services, start by booking an appointment with your GP to discuss the possibility of a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).
If you are found eligible, this plan could entitle you to Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual psychological sessions per calendar year. This support is designed to make mental health care more accessible and affordable.
Please be aware that the additional 10 sessions that were temporarily available due to COVID-19 expired in December 2022. Currently, the standard entitlement under an MHCP is up to 10 sessions annually.
A standard consultation costs $225 (46-60 minute session).
With a valid MHCP, a Medicare rebate of $96.65 is available, resulting in an out-of-pocket expense of $128.35.
Note: Both the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) provide a recommended schedule of fees for private psychology services. For the 2024-2025 period, the standard consultation fee for a 46 to 60-minute session is set between $311-$315.
Wells Psychology charges less than the APS and AAPi recommendation.
Clients are kindly asked to notify the practice at least 48 hours in advance if they cannot keep their appointment. For Monday appointments, confirmation is needed by Friday.
We understand that sometimes unexpected things happen, but please note that if you are unable to provide 48 hours' notice, a cancellation fee equivalent to the full cost of the scheduled session will be charged.
Wells Psychology relies solely on client fees, and missed appointments impact our ability to serve other clients and maintain consistent revenue. This policy is designed to ensure sustainability and fairness, as it can be challenging to fill spots on short notice. It is not intended as a punishment but is necessary to keep the practice running smoothly for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding.
